Biography

Mustafa Moinuddin is currently enrolled in the Master of International Law and Economics Program at the World Trade Institute (WTI). He is particularly interested in issues related to regional integration, textiles, trade remedies, GATS, WTO dispute settlement, and international security.

Mustafa, a citizen of Bangladesh, received his Master in International Relations from the University of Dhaka in 1998. Prior to going to the WTI he worked as a Research and Communication Officer at the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh. He also taught French language in the Alliance Française de Dhaka. Previously he worked in ActionAid Bangladesh (an international NGO) and as a French teacher in the Independent University, Bangladesh. While studying at the University, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU). He has written a number of articles for local newspapers on issues such as sustainable development, migratory workers, and food security. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Program in Arms Control, Disarmament and International Security (ACDIS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he pursued research work on water security in Bangladesh. ACDIS published his work as an Occasional Paper in 2004.
