The Program in Arms Control, Disarmament, and International Security (ACDIS) is pleased to announce two separate award competitions designed to support undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) engaged in research, internships, or study abroad focusing on international security issues.
- The ACDIS Undergraduate International Security Research Opportunity facilitates UIUC undergraduates to work with a faculty member on a guided individual research project during the 2009-10 academic year. Successful applicants will receive an award of $200 to assist their research and participate in a poster session event held by ACDIS in the spring semester to share the results of their project with others. Participating faculty advisors are eligible to receive a $100 research fund stipend. The deadline for this competition is October 1, 2009.
- The ACDIS Undergraduate Travel Scholarships provide awards in amounts up to $500 to support undergraduates engaged in an approved internship or study abroad research program focusing on international security. The deadline for the travel awards competition is February 26, 2010.
