Funding Opportunities for Students
ACDIS currently has two types of annual competitive funding awards available to undergraduate students. Please note that only undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) are eligible to receive these awards.
- The ACDIS Undergraduate International Security Research Opportunity enables UIUC undergraduates to work with a faculty member on a guided individual research project. Successful applicants receive an award of $200 to assist their research and participate in a poster session event held by ACDIS in the spring semester to share the results of their project with others. Participating faculty advisors are eligible to receive a $100 research fund stipend. The deadline for this competition is in early fall.
- The ACDIS Undergraduate Travel Scholarships provide awards in amounts up to $500 to support undergraduates engaged in an approved internship or study abroad research program focusing on international security. The deadline for the travel awards competition is in early spring.
